Impactful and though provoking
"sun memos" by Ziggy Alberts is a short collection of contemporary poetry. Most poems have a good meter and rhythm to them, considering he is a singer-songwriter.
Alberts' poems mainly contained themes of nature, existence, love and the earth. Each one of the poems is unique and memorable. As a poetry reader and poet myself I quite enjoyed reading through and highlighting certain verses and lines. One line that really stuck out to me was "for how sad/it could be/to only have/memories of thoughts/and not thoughts/of memories." It really speaks volumes about how you think of doing so many things, yet you never end up doing them.
The meter and stanzas are very clumped together or extremely spaced out (like most modern poetry collections) but all the poems have great length and value. If it was 2014 some of the lines and verses would send Tumblr into a frenzy.
This book is for those who enjoy poetry of course and question existence and life in itself.
