I think I'm on a family-themed binge. Lately, I've been reading a lot of books based on families, whether adopted, or sisters, or just family in general. I find that it's really heartwarming to read about the character development and self-discovery. That's the mindset I had going into this book.

I enjoyed it. First, the cover I thought was adorable and strong. All of the vibrant colors really caught my eye and made me want to stay.

Character-wise, I thought they were artfully done. I am several years past being a fifteen year old, but I found that I could still relate to Amandla. I think all of the characters were so loveable, and made me want to hug them all.

I also liked the mystery that really drove the book. It made me keep flipping pages and I ate the book before I realized it was finished. Truly a tragic but heartwarming tale that was worthwhile to read.
