This book is not something I would usually read when it’s comes to a genre but the cover had me intrigued. I loved the mother-daughter dynamic because not only do the two have seperate skin colors, but it is very clear that the daughter is being kept in the dark. On the other hand, I found the writing to be a little hard to follow along, in the sense that I was confused, but this sets up the story pretty well!
