Amandla's mother does not seem to be entirely in her right mind, which makes life even more difficult for her than not fitting in because of the color of her skin. And her father is a mystery, which can make her feel even more adrift. But then she finds an address in her mother's bag that opens up a whole new side to Annalisa's past that will make her question her life and place even further. Clearly this book is going to be an interesting delve into mental health, classism, race and identity.
