I'm truly living for these world building fantasy books that have a great mix of war politics and action. The plot fully drives the story and there's so much room given to flesh out the characters. There are many moving parts and characters at play, but the author does a good job in juggling and balancing these. I enjoyed the different aspects of sisterhood and found family is one of my favorite themes. The relationships between characters were dynamic and each character was rich and complex in their own way. Zephyr is a stunning MC. Bold, confident, unshakeable. The writing is fast paced and doesn't let up, and hoh boy dropping them plot twists like its hot. I also appreciated the notes in the back that offered insight into the original Three Kingdoms story. I had no known background. Im excited to see where the rest of this series goes!
