I really love this book and was so happy to get a copy through bookish first. I love when I win a copy and it ends up being a hardcover copy. It makes me day when I can add it to my shelf and it feels like a new purchase without the guilt. That probably doesn’t sound very good but the other book collectors will know what I mean. The cover is absolutely stunning. I hope the artist continues to create ya book covers because the work is just that, art. The story itself is beautiful and kept my attention. I love when fantasies are steeped in folklore and history. It makes the world building so much more interesting and then there is an opportunity to research and learn more about a people’s history. Especially when an author explains that the work takes real liberties. It means there is a mystery to be solved and I enjoy figuring out what was made up and what has historical grounding.
