Beautiful re-imagined Chinese military Romance!
This author was referred to me by a friend, they told me I HAD to read their books! And wheew, were they correct! This book had so many things I love! There's backstabbing, war, enemies to lovers, found family, and more! If this doesn't immediately make you want to buy this book, I don't know what else will!
Strike the Zither takes place within three kingdoms throughout Chinese history, not something I had lots of knowledge on. This book is a retelling full of twists. And there are a LOT of plot twists, something I LOVED while reading this! Seriously, jaw drop, every. single. time!
Each character was amazing in their own way, and I felt myself falling in love with all these characters throughout this read!
One of my favorite parts, however, was the writing style. It was so new and interesting to me that I just had to mention it in my review! The writing is strong and takes place in a first-person pov.
If you are going to read this book, just be aware to brace yourself for an emotional rollercoaster and a book you will love forever!
