What a fast-paced and exciting beginning! The author wasted no time throwing us into the middle of battle with a quick-witted, self-serving strategist with a knack for playing the long game. Seeing schemes and betrayals play out even in such a short span of pages was great, and Zephyr is a lively narrator as well.
