This is an excellent book for someone who knows nothing about mindfulness and meditation. It teaches the basic ideas of being present and learning to shift from the mindset of constantly doing and learning how to shift to the mindset of just "being". It covers some basic meditation techniques such as the body scan, the breathing , and the redirection of the mind when it inevitably begins to wander. It is a great introduction for the complete novice. For me though, it was a bit disappointing in the sense that it does not offer anything that is particularly original or new if you are already a student of mindfulness. It doesn't have anything in it that makes me say, "This is the book you must read". On the positive side, the author seems like a really nice person who is trying sincerely to help people to become more awake in their daily lives which is a good thing.
