Getting Real About Mindfulness

Having read my fair share of books/essays on mindfulness and meditation (with varying results), I maintain a healthy skepticism about new additions to the genre. That said, the tone of the preface and introduction do leave me wanting to give "Stop Missing Your Life" a try. Cory Muscara writes with a frankness that I appreciate, freely acknowledging his privilege in being able to study and pursue his study and practice with the support of family. He also doesn't sugarcoat that living mindfully is hard, and can feel vacuous if you're trying to "be present" simply for the sake of being present. His directness doesn't come off as harsh or preachy, but is conveyed with a warmth and humor that feels genuine and down-to-earth. Looking forward to reading the rest!
