The author of “Still Crazy” seems very passionate and dedicated to promoting her work which I really respect. It’s clear that a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into writing this novel. It’s her baby which is why I was really nervous about whether or not I would like this book. I am happy to report this was a good book! Julie is an unlikable character because she doesn’t do what we know she should. There is a saying “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” but that’s not the real world or real relationships. I feel bad for Julie because she has this traditional notion that being a good wife is enough to make her marriage perfect when in reality a marriage is two people continuing to commit to one another every single day of their lives. Julie also frustrated me because it’s hard to watch someone accept betrayal after betrayal. Overall, this was a good read.
