I had such high hopes for this book after reading the “First Look” and I was thrilled to be able to receive a copy. It’s not that it was a horrible book. I can see the potential in the author, but I think the book was a little too much for a first time author. I think too much was trying to be done. I have to applaud the effort, but it got too jumbled as it went on. The beginning started off really strong but somewhere, somehow along the road, it all fell apart. The characters seemed to fall a little flat for me.
Again, I want to be clear, this is not a horrific book. I said it earlier that the author has a ton of potential and I think that is why I finished the book. She has a way with words, but I think more was bitten off in this debut novel to be honest. It was almost as if the book wasn’t sure what direction to go in and was fairly predictable.
All in all, the author has a ton of potential and I do plan on following her career.
