Stars and Smoke by Marie Lu was a must-read for me. First of all, that cover is absolutely eye-catching, and once I read the synopsis, I knew I had to have this book.

I love Marie Lu's writing style and characters. It's so easy to be drawn into her stories and fly through the pages. It was no different for Stars and Smoke. Both Winter and Sydney were interesting characters, and the mystery/suspense played out so well. I loved the undercover agent aspect with all the bad-assery and cool tech.

I was hoping for more of an NA vibe with this story, but since Winter and Sydney are 19, I guess it makes sense that there was still more of a YA feel to it. I'm really hoping we get more of the NA vibe in the next installment because I'd love to see that from Marie Lu.
