Over the years i’ve grown very fond of liking the esponge genre and wished that more authors like Ally carter could explore writing in the genre. Mari lu did a fantastic job (as usual) writing this book about a spy and a popstar. I enjoyed getting to read about both Winter and Sydney in each of their povs. There banter was also funny and enjoyable. I loved their jelious moments as well. The moment I setted my eyes of the book I could but it down and managed to finish the book in less than a day.
With that being said, I really only have two things I would like to critique on. One, being how they described the black characters that is friends with winter. In the book that described his hair as DREAD locks which is really harmful to say. People use the word “dread” as a bad way to describe locks and i felt uneasy reading that part. The second problem I had was the pacing. The pacing was a little slow in the beginning but felt rushed towards the end. Other than those things, the book was a nice read.
