Ive read nearly all of Marie Lu’s books and I’ve come to expect characters that have tortured pasts and plenty of emotional scars. Winter and Sydney are no exception. In addition to this, Marie Lu never fails to give her readers a solid dose of action and mystery. So if you are looking for another book that is very much like this author’s previous books, this one will not disappoint. But if you are looking for something new and different as the premise somewhat hints at, you might be disappointed. Still, this book is a lot of fun and Marie Lu’s writing is crisp and clean as always. It’s also a pretty quick read with pacing that moves you right along. In short, it’s everything you’d expect in a Marie Lu book!
