Winter Young is a superstar pop singer who is offered the opportunity to become a spy, it's the perfect cover, no one will suspect that the famous singer has intentions of ending up with a crime boss and his new biological weapon. Sydney is the sassy spy and Winter companion, she is one of the best agents and the youngest, she is very ambitious, and is not happy to discover that her new role involves a singer and that she will have to act as his bodyguard.

The mission is dangerous but simple, attend the party, meet the criminal, and eliminate his new weapon, but unexpected things happen and that is when the actions begin.

I love Marie Lu's writing style, her characters are sassy, and her scenes' actions are cinematographic, this feels a little different from her other books, the fantasy is more subtle, but the action is there, I didn't want to stop reading.

It was a fun and light fast-pacing story with witty characters and a few turns and plot twists. I like both characters, both have more personality than it seems at first glance, especially Winter, don't underestimate him as Sydney does. Both are smart and have reason to be spies.

This is the first book of a new series and I loved that it was auto-conclusive, with no cliffhangers, just be ready for the next adventure.

Read it if:
You like spy stories with lots of action
Want something fun, light but good
Enjoy YA stories (younger than adult)
