Marie Lu's latest book, did NOT disappoint. It's a a fun spy fiction with elements of romance, mystery and suspense.
Famous popstar, Winter Young is recruited by the Panacea Group, a government agency to help take down a criminal tycoon, Eli Morrison. A young, but talented agent, Sydney Cosette goes undercover as his bodyguard to infiltrate the compound as well.
This book was fast-paced, dynamic, and had well-developed characters that were very fun to read about. Sydney and Winter made the cutest couple ever. I liked how their romance had that element of surprise. Although it was a bit sudden, the romance made sense in their situation, especially considering their age and dynamics. I absolutely LOVED their banter and Sydney's hilarious abbreviated messages :)
The plot was intriguing and took a turn I wasn't expecting at all. Marie Lu's plot twists are always shocking and remain captivating as ever. I would never have suspected this one coming.
Overall, the book was excellent and I have no critiques, except for the fact that their were some things that didn't tie in together with the rest of the plot at the end of the story, but I suspect they will be covered in the sequel(s).
