I am happy to say my very last read of 2020, Starfish, is also my favorite book of the entire year! What a great way to end such a terrible year. I cried, A LOT. But I also laughed. This might be one of the most important books I've ever read. I wish I had this growing up. But I am so immensely glad that people of ALL ages will have this to read now. It's never too late!

This is an excellent story about a young girl trying to navigate life while surrounded by many people who seem to live just to drag her down. It's extremely relatable for anyone who grew up feeling judged for who they are. By parents, siblings, other students, doctors.. you name it. It felt so therapeutic to read, and I honestly want to be the author's friend because I don't think I've ever read something that just felt so REAL and RIGHT when it comes to the struggles faced by children (and adults even) for being "overweight". This had me in the feels with every turn of page. I'm going to be rereading this, highlighting it everywhere.. I just... WOW. Thank you, truly, for writing one of my favorite books of all time. I'll be reading every book you ever publish.
