Ultimately I thought that this was a superb book with an amazing message. I love how the main character was obsessed with poetry, so the chapter read as if they were stanzas.

The cover of the book is very cute too, with that and the name being what overall pulled me into the book. There’s so much propaganda nowadays about “becoming the perfect weight” or about how you have to look a certain way to be happy. This book shows that there are different body types for each person, and that’s okay. It also addresses the topic of what it is like to have someone that is a toxic influence in your life and that drags you down and can make you feel even worse about yourself, in this case being represented by the motherly figure. I love how the idea of therapy was normalized as well as there tends to be a stigma around mental health topics as well. Overall I thought it was an amazing read.
