This novel is a book for all ages. It does not need to just apply for YA. It is written in verse and beautifully tell a story about a young girl who struggles with how other people view her body image.

This book is about a young girl who is bullied by her parents and her classmates because of her weight. Her mom has her go into therapy. She starts to find her voice and be able to confront her bullies in a healthier way. She confronts her mom and classmates. Anywhere she goes, comments are made about her weight- school, restaurants, her brother, etc. She starts these rules for fat girls that she follows as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story. The theme is about bullying and body image. I enjoyed the use of narrative poetry. I really enjoyed some of the messages too. The only issue that I had with this book was it was ALL negative. I wish we would have gotten to see the main character happy about something once in the novel. I wish that I was able to get to know her a little more other than her body image. The entire novel, I wanted to give her a huge hug. I think this is an important book to read about what it feels like to be bullied and not accepted.
