I was happy to win a copy of this book and dug right in as soon s it arrived. Unfortunately for me I had trouble grasping exactly who the character of Sophie was for quite a while in the beginning. I really enjoyed the parts of the story told from Lucas's POV. Savannah aka Sparrow kind of took longer than I had hoped to connect to.

This is a solid read overall. It tackles some pretty deep issues including mental and physical abuse. The fact that these issues were shown from before they started though to the aftermath was refreshing and sort of different. Don't be discouraged that the book starts off pretty slow and seems a little confusing for the first few chapters just stick with it. I would have given it a much higher rating if not for the slow start.
