Beautiful and poignant
This book evokes a mess of emotions.
The story follows the life of Sparrow, a 17 year old ballerina, who suffers extreme physical and mental abuse at the hands of her "perfect" boyfriend, Tristan, and the period of recovery that follows.
It is told through dual perspectives (both Sparrow and her best friend, Lucas) which only reveals more about the horrific nature of abusive relationships.
It is sad and touching, yet beautiful and hopeful, and I could not put it down. There were several moments in the book that nearly brought me to tears.
I don't want to reveal too much of the plot, but I would definitely recommend this one.
(I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
