Quite a while ago when teaching junior high school students I read the book SPEAK. That was a tough story to read and it appears this book will be similar. The excerpt I read starts out innocently enough with Sparrow’s meeting leading to a date with Tristan. The book summary lets the reader know Sparrow will experience a lot of unpleasantness. From what I’ve read so far, the book sounds like it will be a worthwhile one for young people to read. I think the author writes well. At the present time, I don’t think I want to put myself through all the heartache and pain of reading what is coming up for Sparrow, though and would elect not to give myself a chance to win the book. No reflection on the book or author.
