Oh this was beautiful! It reminded me of “East” by Edith Pattou which is one of my favorite books so that was a lovely surprise. The romance is gorgeous and really wrapped me up in the story. The setting is vivid and a style I don’t often see in YA. The writing is beautiful. It is lyrical but yet still clear. I felt like I was floating through the story on a river boat but still aware enough to see everything that passes by. The cover is stunning. The colors are dark but they still pop. It doesn’t look like every other YA cover out there. YA covers are really starting to blend and I appreciated that this one stands out and looks for adult rather than middle grade. I have already purchased it for the school library.
