At first I couldn't get into the the book it was a new author to me I thought it might be just that so I kept pushing myself through it and ended up really liking the book I had great characters and I absolutely loved it was kind of like a love story but with a Twist there is Magic as well lots of Trials throughout the story. I personally forgot and didn't read the first book before this one and I highly recommend to make sure you read the first one before the second one I think it threw me for a loop a little bit because it really did go very well with the first book I ended up coming back and read the first book and then I was starting to understand a lot more about the second book everything in twined into each other. The overall a very good block and would recommend it to anybody who loves fantasy as well a little romance.
