Loved this and hope to finish the story!
I need to know the rest of the story! I don’t usually enjoy modern young adult books, but this one drew me in. It is very well-written, and I’d like to see where the story ends up going as Lan sets off on her adventure with Bao.
The only thing I disliked is the part where Lan slapped Bao across the face two separate times. If it had been the other way around, people would be outraged so I don’t know why it’s acceptable for young girls to slap boys across the face.
