Every word Dao writes seems to flow directly from her heart to the page. It's clear she loves her settings and her characters in all their complexity. It didn't take long for me to become engrossed in the world, and I was absolutely rooting for both Bao and Lan even after a few brief chapters. I can't wait for the full book! I just know it's going to be lovely.
