I will admit that I've never read Little Women, nor have I ever watched an adaptation of the book. Perhaps that affected my enjoyment of this excerpt. I found the sentences to be run on and difficult to parse and while the concept is overall interesting, I don't think I will enjoy the whole book as much as someone else would.
