So, I have only seen different versions of Little Women on the screen. I have never read the book, however, the writing style of the author transports me back to the 19th century. The flow of the sentences reminds me of classic prose. I am also enjoying the small touches that provide incite to the Post-Civil War African-American experience from being enslaved to being treated like a second-class citizen as provided through Mammy's experience. I'm enjoying the world-building. I can see the construction of the African-American community.
