Oh this seems like a fantastic twist on an old classic Little Women this time set in the midst of the Civil War. I love how the family of the story is African American it brings a fresh new perspective on the story. I love any book dealing with history and having it set during the Civil War just makes it all the more interesting but also importantly heartbreaking and adds touch of appreciation what will happen to the family during one of the most horrific times in American history.
