First and foremost, let me say that I have never read the original Little Women. I have seen the most recent movie and did not love it, so I think that is biasing my opinion of this First Impression. It was well written and I love to see some diversity and a fresh take brought to a classic, but I don't feel excited about it.
Also not a huge fan of people on covers. It kind of reminds me of a book cover I would have seen in my 3rd or 4th grade classroom.
I have seen this highly reviewed on goodreads and what I read so far was well written, I just don't have an interest in the original.
