First off, the cover on this book is gorgeous. Very eye-catching, and extremely reminiscent of what we know of the scenery so far. The excerpts that were featured exhibit a fast-paced dialogue and a decent-sized cast of characters. We don't get to dive too deeply into any of the characters yet, and that made this first read a little more challenging. There is definitely enough there to make you want more. Why did the plane crash? Who was on it? What's with the dude whose truck they stole? What kind of people are Steve and Zack really (because they sound pretty unlikeable so far)? I like that there is a set-up for an epic chase with both the federal government and a Mexican cartel family. Is it bad when one of the most sympathetic characters described is a cartel enforcer named Diego?
