Read the whole book in a weekend and then made sure to read the other book in this series. It’s not perfect - there are some inconsistencies in the narrative, but nothing that keeps you from enjoying the book.
It’s so nice to read a thriller with an engaging, smart, strong female lead! She’s not sexualized or weakened in the face of competing male characters, so this entry into the thriller world is one that I hope continues to grow. There are now more female leads (like Renee Ballard, another favorite of mine) but this is one of the best.
As a thriller, the world of negotiation is not explored enough, so no matter who the lead is, it’s a unique book that fits into categories that others do not fit into. This is a fun one - with an author who supports other thriller authors! Love that about her - authors supporting the community and hopefully helping it grow.
