This is the first book that I have read that is written by Marie Lu and I could not bring myself to put it down. It definitely hooked me from the first sentence. I found the characters extremely relatable. I felt like I could really hear their voices within the story as it was being told. I also loved how the author showed the personality of the characters throughout the story. I loved all of the detail that the author put into the story. It was easy to see everything as it happened in my mind's eye.
I found that some of the elements within the story could be easily related to what is happening in the world around us right now. I also found that the things the characters went through are things that a lot of people go through and could relate to.
Marie Lu did not disappoint in this story and I will definitely be reading more of her books and recommending them to friends and family.
