Though this wasn't my favorite Marie Lu story, I definitely enjoyed it. Lu's Prodigy series is by far my favorite, and I love those characters to this day.

Skyhunter was a decent addition to her collection of stories, though not the most compelling. I felt like the book had a really slow start, and I had a fair amount of trouble getting immersed in the world. Another issue I had with Skyhunter is that I found a certain character's death to be a little too trope-y for my liking (but that's to be expected in a YA book I suppose).

I did like Talin as a protagonist though. I found her backstory to be interesting and admired her inner (and outer) strength. I also liked the concept of Strikers and Ghosts and how Ghosts were once people who were twisted into monstrous creatures by the Federation. It's definitely creepy and is a scifi trope that I like seeing in stories.

Another thing I liked about Skyhunter is how Talin continued to develop throughout the story. We get to watch her grow and overcome a variety of obstacles, including extreme prejudices against her race. I also enjoyed some of the side characters as well as Talin's love interest. I can also appreciate the fact that the romance wasn't the focus on the story. That is a massive pet peeve of mine, and I feel like romance in fantasy or scifi books can sometimes detract from my overall enjoyment of a book.

Overall, this was an entertaining read, and I'm excited to see what Marie Lu creates in the future!
