I read the First Look through BookishFirst, and I can't decide if this book is a "must-have" for the story or just for the design! I liked Marie Lu's Kingdom of Back, and I was intrigued by this one. The battles read like video game fights, which makes perfect sense given Lu's background! I like the main character but I'm hoping she won't be too one-dimensional. The First Look cut off on a hell of a cliffhanger, so at the very least I'll be finding this book from a library just to find out what happens! It definitely reads like a YA fantasy, but so far it's been brutal and not too juvenile. I honestly hope there's not a whole lot of battles, because while it was vivid, that's not my favorite sort of tale to read. I'll update this review if I end up picking this one up!
