This book…
First of all, let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of Mary Lu’s work. That being said, I always review books accurately, whether it’s my favorite author or not. So what I am about to say, I can assure you, is in no way bias.

I was unprepared for this journey. The writing is beautiful, descriptive, the first I was unprepared for this journey. The writing is beautiful, descriptive, the perfect balance of show and tell. The story is heart wrenching, captivating, and breathtaking. From the moment that I started I could not put the book down. I was in desperate need to find out what was happening next, it kept me involved the entire time. I grew to know and love Talin, the main character. I truly felt what she was feeling.

One of the things that instantly drew me in and captured my attention was the fact that the main character could not speak. She lost the ability at a young age and since then only communicates by using Sign Language. This is one of the first books that almost all conversations have sign language, it brought so much more emotion into the story and words that were being spoken.

I truly cannot tell you enough that you need to go read this book right now! This is hands-down one of the best books I have ever read, and it’s tied for my favorite book by Marie Lu. This book deserve so much love!
