I am a sucker for a good map. When I open a book that starts with a map, I know I’m in for an adventure. I generally like the cover. The love the font, but I’m not sure I understand the symbolism of the colors or the bird in flight.
I am intrigued by the concept of a non-verbal protagonist. A character who speaks through narration for the reader and sign language for other characters, but who is vocally silent. This is an aspect I am interested to see play out throughout the book.
Overall the first few chapters are gripping. Deep rooted evil in a broken world? A fight for freedom? Sign me up! I cannot wait to read more and get lost in the adventure.
