As soon as this book began I was drawn into the story with the comprehensive descriptions of the Ghosts, I could see them in my mind's eye. I love that there is a drawing of the world and its lands, it adds to the story and gives a great perspective of what is to come as well as being useful to reference events in the story. This story is so well written, I feel like I am in this world and that I can clearly see the characters from how they are written. I have yet to read anything by Marie Lu but after this excerpt I cannot wait to finish this book as well as pick up some of her other work.
