Certainly different from the Legacy books, but a nice start to a new series. The story begins with the defenders of Mara, who are tasked with fighting off the Ghosts, an attack force of the Federation, which is seeking to overtake the only free nation on the planet. It is easy to like the characters and the writing draws you in. I look forward to reading the book.
