The easiest way to review this book is to say that I likely won't read the sequel. I was ambivalent about this book from the start. When I let fate decide and actually won it from a Goodreads giveaway, I tried to give it a shot and was aggressively bored by it. A year later, I've actually picked it up again and finished it (but once again, due mostly just to an external obligation). It was okay. There were a few times I set it down and felt that I didn't really need to pick it back up again. The ending was predictable, and the main quest was justified very poorly. When a character suggested it as the only possible option I was juuuust shy of shouting at the book like I might during an NFL game. Probably an unpopular opinion that I enjoyed her other series' better (Young Elites, Legend...).
