Okay, when I found out Marie Lu came out with this book I was super excited! Not only do I love legend (I read it 5 years ago and still reread it today!)But i also really enjoyed warcross as well as the young elites. And this book went above my expectations.
Looking at it from an objective point of view, this book doesn't bring anything amazingly new to this genre. Yes, everything ends up being very convenient, and teenagers make all of the discoveries, etc, etc, but I think Marie Lu was able to tell this story in a way that those things can easily be overlooked. I also think although her book is very accessible, there are still many important lessons and this book shouldn't be overlooked just because it's YA.
I loved the characters in this book so much, especially Talin and the world was very captivating in my opinion. I also didn't see the twist coming, which is really nice. I cannot wait to read more about these characters in book two!
Marie Lu is a great author on her own, but the fact that she is still able to write great book after great book takes her to a new level. She is definitely one of my favorite YA authors. :)
