Expertly Crafted
Marie Lu has outdone herself with her newest fantasy story. The world is well-built and the characters are even more so. There aren't many YA books that represent disbaled main characters, and this is one of the first 'mainstream' books that I've read that the main character has this type of disability.
The plot was great and I really loved the world that they were fighting for. Right from the start you are sucked into the action. The twists keep you reading, and before you know it the book is finished and you are pre-ordering the sequel.
All the characters are amazing. You get to know a fantastic cast. I became attatched to all of them. Talin, the main character, has so many layers and the author makes her feel real. She sttruggles with her disability and loosing her friend(not a spoiler, it literally happens in chapter 2). She acts like a real person with real problems, and I cannot wait to read the next one.
