Marie Lu is a queen writing dystopian, scifi fantasy novels. I'm obsessed with her other works like the Legend trilogy, Warcross duology and her HonestlyYoung Elites series. So when I picked up this book I had high expectations and they were all satisfied. Marie Lu cover as always are incredibly beautiful and so eye catching. This one is not any different. Immediately the art cover is what drew me in at the start, and then i started realizing the smaller details of the cover, and all i wanted to do was read. This book was an amazing journey to read. The backstory/history of the characters and their relationships were done so good. This is a type of book that even if it didn't have any plot (which it did) and instead be character driven would still be such an amazing read because of how good the character are. Dystopian scifi fantasy is one of my favorite genres and this book did such an amazing job touching upon that and encompassing the genre. The world building was just so beautiful and really well done. Great read and I definitely would want the second book if it's in the makings.
