My biggest complaint is that Siren Queen is to short. Nghi Vo spins a story that is as magical as the work it is set in. Monsters are real and we so very much want to be a part of their world. Every page is filled with magic, beauty, and horror. Lull despite her belief of herself as a coward is brave and strong in a way that people who know how to survive and at times thrive are. You will be pulled into the story and never want it to end. I’m not sure I’ll ever look at a movie again and certainly not how I look at stars, both the kind in the sky and on the stage.

This is told by Luli to Jane of how she became to be what she is and how she discovered who she is. Even when she isn’t sure she wants it. I want so much more. Almost a magical hunger to learn of Luli’s life is there and the taste we get is like a decadent desert. If you love magic and monsters or even just the golden age of cinema this is a must read.
