I am way late on posting this review, and I cannot believe it took me this long to get around to reading this gorgeous story. Siren Queen is fascinating and haunting and bold and unlike anything I've read this year. The magic realism is perfection; touches of classic fae superstitions alongside dazzling descriptions that always leave you wanting more. The characters leap off the page; even people you only meet for a few lines before they fade with the next stage of Luli's tumultuous career. While she may make choices that are questionable to the reader, she is always true to herself and drives towards her goals with unflinching focus. The pace never slows - you get glimpses of the crucial experiences and the consequences before you are swept along in this vivid world. I would recommend this to fans of fantasy and literary fiction alike.
