I don't think I've ever read something quite like this before. It was so drastically different than the books and genres I usually find myself gravitating towards. Having said that, I'm so glad I decided to give this excerpt a try because I was blown away. I always try and go outside my comfort zones when it comes to reading because there are so many genres and authors that I might just end up loving. This was one of those times. It has all the elements of things I love. Fantasy, check! A Queer romance, check! Historical elements, check! Also, can we talk about the blood magic and the monster hints that were being set up because WOW! I love darker reads and this was so well blended. I adored the old Hollywood setting as well, I've never read something within that era before and this was a fascinating introduction to a time period I have a feeling I will be diving headfirst into. This was fantastic and I cannot wait to read the full book.
