I don't like period pieces, and I don't watch movies set in our filmed during the gold age of Hollywood, but I am very interested in the topic of studio-contracted actors. The beginning of the first look was some awkward reading for me and I stumbled over the dialogue, but it found a better rhythm as it progressed. The idea of magic and the movies is whimsical and intriguing (it's the whole premise of Disney's movie ride, isn't it?). It's not a metoo book, but it kind of is, right? Or did I overthink this?

I shy away from dense writing and "literature", but I would happily read this if I won a copy.

The cover is gorgeous
