It pulls you in, then leaves you wanting to read more

Luli is a young Asian girl who gets discovered by the film industry when she was barely a teenager. She’s loved the movies for years. She’s even made a strange deal to get into see movies for free at her local theatre. A lock of hair, or a month of her life, to get in to see the show. She’s so young when she makes that deal and I worry that there will be real consequences from her deal. Beautifully written excerpt. I’m definitely intrigued. I’m a bit concerned by the mention of dark magic and dangerous pacts. I’m not sure what to expect with this book. Is it horror? Because I never read horror, I don’t like being scared. If it’s not horror, I’m definitely interested to keep reading.
This excerpt literally ends in the middle of a sentence! Talk about leaving the reader wanting more.
