I got swept into the story immediately. I'm so curious to learn more about the narrator and how she went from a young daughter of Chinese launders to a cynical yet successful Hollywood star.
I like how concepts of magic from different cultures (selling immortality, Faustian deals, fairyland, etc.) are sometimes subtly hinted and sometimes blatantly spelled out.
It promises to be a complex and compelling story. Can't wait to read the rest!
